Torbjørg Klara Fossum, graduated with an M.Sc. in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Trondheim and joined Equinor (former Statoil) in 1997. Through experience and responsibilities she has become a key person representing Equinor’s unique capability and experience in Carbon Capture Utilisation and Storage (CCUS), which is based on more than 20 years of operations from the only two existing full scale CCUS projects in Europe (Sleipner and Snøhvit). She is currently leading a strategic technology portfolio that is supporting the Norwegian authorities’ effort to develop full-scale carbon capture and storage in Norway. The Norwegian full scale CCS project has an investment decision of 1-1.5 bill Euro in 2020 and the overall objective of the project is to be a first step in a CO2 transport and storage network across Europe that can help energy intensive industry to de-carbonise.
